Opening Day May 17th!!!

House Leagues -

Rosters are now formed for all Majors and Modified League Teams. Those groups have all been loaded into SportsEngine so they can communicate and organize through the Team App.

Full Field Teams will be formed next week, more details to follow.

Tournament Teams -

All 709 Tournament Teams have been formed with the exception of 14AA and 14/15 Rec. Those rosters have all been loaded into SportsEngine so they communicate. 14AA and 14/15 Rec will be named this coming week. Thank you all for your patience on that front.

Tournament dates for each team are currently being finalized and will be published in the coming week for family planning purposes.

League Schedules -

We are expecting League Schedules to be released from Quad Cities Director, Shawn Northey, this coming weekend. Majors and Modified Games should begin the week of May 17th, with Full Field Games beginning the first week of June.

Exciting Facility Improvements -

Duluth 709 and Lake Park Baseball are pleased to announce the building of the new Don Nygaard Memorial Batting Cage System at the Lake Park Complex. Don Nygaard was a long standing leader & coach in local area baseball for decades, and his son Bob has continued that family tradition as an active leader in Duluth 709 baseball for the past many years. He and his family have graciously donated proceeds to see this new Batting Cage System constructed in their father's memory, as a way to honor his contributions to area athletics and improve the overall experience for all Northland Youth Baseball Players.

Beyond the new Batting Cage, the organization is also looking at adding two new fields this year to accommodate a significant surge in enrollment, which demands more field space to support the additional teams, while also looking at upgrading all its scoreboards to allow Bluetooth connection for ease of reliable use going forward.

These improvements are made in no small part due to our Corporate Sponsors, Family Contributors such as the Nygaard's, and our combined willingness to fundraise through our new card program this summer. Thank you to Kelly Larson, Melissa Grumdahl and the entire Duluth 709 Fundraising Committee for making these improvements possible. If there are others within our families that would like to join this committee and continue their good work, please reach out through the website for more information.

Enjoy the improving weather everyone. Baseball is right around the corner!
